Michael Jones creates many memorable moments through
his art, his stories and his facilitation. A widely
acclaimed Juno nominated (Canadian Grammy) pianist and
composer whose 1983 album PIANOSCAPES would serve as
a benchmark for contemporary instrumental music - Michael
is also a widely recognized leadership speaker and educator,
writer, thought leader and creative facilitator.
Michael, - who has produced fifteen more solo and ensemble
recordings and written two books on creative leadership
including; Artful Leadership, Awakening the Commons
of the Imagination and the award winning Creating an
Imaginative Life - began his recording career following
a meeting with a stranger who asked the question; "Who
will play your music if you don't play it yourself?"
This question changed his life and inspired a recording
career that has spanned decades and enchanted millions
during what he expected to be a short break from an
established career as an organizational consultant and
leadership educator.
Then he came full circle. By bringing together a lifetime
in music and a career in leadership education he has
been inspiring others to find their own music
ithrough keynote talks, seminars and facilitated conversations
that others have experienced as
open,
genuine and transformational". In so doing
he is also articulating a new story of leadership engagement
that is imaginative, balanced, reflective and whole.
Michael Jones has performed in many settings including
the Setagaya Art Museum in Tokyo Japan, the Seoul Art
Center in Korea and The International Piano Festival
in Montreal, Canada. He has been a featured keynote
speaker in leadership forums alongside such visionary
thinkers as Colin Powell, Peter Senge, Margaret J.
Wheatley and Peter Block. And he has worked with
innovation teams within several global businesses exploring
the synergies between creative artistry, authentic leadership
and collective learning and collaboration.
